Sydney International Piano Competition Winner 

The Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia is internationally recognised as one of the world’s great Piano Competitions. This event, held every four years, has served as a platform for emerging young pianists from around the world since 1977.

Live broadcasts of the Sydney International Piano Competition, whilst small at the start, have gained momentum and in 2000, the whole world was able to access this competition live via the internet. The competition is also streamed to over 1.6million Australians - live, courtesy of presenting partner the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, providing an audience beyond their wildest dreams for the commissioned Australian works of the Competition.

In 2008, auditions were held in Naples, Vienna, Hamburg, Paris, Moscow, London, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai and Sydney. Most of the auditions were held with an audience in attendance in addition to the judging panel for that city, which created a real concert atmosphere. Major Prize-Winners of the competition tour throughout all States and Territories of Australia, with the first prize-winner having an additional return tour two years after the competition.
