Shakin’ The Contemporary Kinetic Aesthetic

Gallery 2 June 30 - August 5, 2012

Kinetic sculpture is sculpture that moves and artists who make it are not content to have their artwork sit quietly in a corner just waiting for someone to come and look at it. Kinetic sculpture bangs and shakes, it startles and you might even find it wandering around the gallery.

Some artists love to pull apart the technology of today and remake it as if to spite the super smart efficiency of the new age of digital ingenuity all around us. For others, our own movement and interaction with the artwork becomes essential to the meaning. Artists include Sandra Landholt, Arthur Wicks, John Turier and local emerging artist Michael Candy.

Workshops will be made available with exhibiting artists. Booking details available on our website May 2012.
