Join us for International Artist Talks relating to the Australian Creative Exchange exhibition Meeting Place: The Asian Century.

Program of talks and performances -

2.00pm Featured Foyer Gallery artist Dave Groom discusses his drawing and painting practice

2.30pm Xing Ruilian (China) will enchant audiences with an incense burning performance

2.45pm Lainie Cooper President, ACE Inc (Australia) introduces the Australian Cultural Exchange

3.00pm Professor Park, Dong Jin from Chunchun University, Incheon, Korea will speak about the University and his work. He will also introduce his fellow lecturers and their work.

3.20pm Somchai Charoen (Thailand) will talk about his work and his involvement with SEAPots (South East Asia Pottery)

3.40pm Jiangsheng Li (Jackson Li) (China), artist and founder of the Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute in Jingdezhen, shares his vision with the audience

4.00pm Antone Bruinsma (Australia) discusses the meaningful connections or 'meeting points' with Asia in his sculptural practice

4.20pm Kurniawaty (Nia) Gautama (Indonesia) will perform Salam Kenal (Pleased to meet you). During this performance the audience will have the opportunity to taste the real kerupuk and to pin handwritten messages onto Nia’s Indonesian national dress, which will become part of her exhibit
