Light Falling is an exhibition of Carolyn Cleak’s recent paintings which explore the environment of the coastal landscape around Byron Bay. Her unique painterly style captures the changing mood and atmosphere of the land and sea with a particular focus on the role of the sky. As the artist states 'I have come to be in a sort of reverential awe of the sky. Not simply for the vast roof it forms but for the illusion of colors it portrays, the array of blues, greys, violet, rose and yellow and then in an ecstatic moment, a verde green. It is like the ultimate and most striking work of art in abstract color painting. A kaleidoscope of sheer beauty.'
