BE DIRECTED IN A PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTION BY THE STATE’S LEADING THEATRE COMPANY 

The Youth Theatre Project is a text based work catering for the 16 – 21 year age group. To date, The Arts Centre has presented two Youth Theatre Projects – Oh The Humanity & Other Exclamations! (2010) and The Good Doctor (2011). These Projects have provided young Gold Coast performers with expert guidance from professional directors, Jason Klarwein and Jennifer Flowers. 

The inaugural Youth Theatre Project, Oh the Humanity and Other Exclamations! directed by Jason Klarwein, offered local actors an incredible professional experience. The success of this introductory season saw The Youth Theatre initiatives skyrocket, making them one of the Arts Centre’s flagship annual projects. 

Through the support of Queensland Theatre Company, The Arts Centre was thrilled to engage Jennifer Flowers as director for the 2011 production of The Good Doctor. Assisted by 2011 Artist in Residence – Monette Lee, this production was masterfully directed with the guidance and support of these experienced women.

The young cast members of both projects were honoured to have the privilege of working alongside such reputable industry professionals.
