Ignition Initiative

 

This initiative provided development support for performing arts individuals or organisations based in the Gold Coast region.

 

We have structured a supportive environment in which artists will have the opportunity to co-produce a commission work in partnership with The Arts Centre. With assistance from The Arts Centre, artists are encouraged to develop their work for touring, and ongoing performance opportunities. Mentoring, and production assistance is provided by the Creative Producer and Production Manager.

  

Mercury’s Wings Theatre Company were the recipients of the 2010 Ignition Initiative, and in February 2011 they staged the hilarious Australian comedy Carbon Dating. The production included a season at The Arts Centre, and an 11 venue tour throughout South-East Queensland.
